Dr. Danielle Catona earned her doctoral degree in health and interpersonal communication from Rutgers University in 2015. She received her M.A. in health communication from The Pennsylvania State University and her B.A. in communication studies from The College of New Jersey. Her research and teaching interests include communication campaigns, persuasion, and interpersonal communication. Dr. Catona joined Seton Hall University as an assistant professor of graduate communication in fall 2016. She is currently developing a health communication specialization for MA and PhD students. |
ResearchHer program of research includes the development, implementation, and evaluation of theory-driven health interventions.
She has two approaches to interventions including persuasion and interpersonal communication. |
PublicationsShe has been published in the Journal of Applied Communication Research, the Journal of Communication,
the Journal of Health Communication, and Health Communication. She has co-authored a number of book chapters on communication in older adulthood and self-disclosure. |
TeachingShe has experience teaching core undergraduate and graduate courses in the communication major, in addition to a variety of upper division courses in interpersonal, health, and persuasive communication.
